Over the past four-five years, we have traveled to Bora Bora / Tahiti, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco, Zihuatanejo, Ixtapa, Manzanillo, Ciudad del Carmen, Meridad, Campache, Puerto Rico, and several islands in the the Caribbean. Oh yea, and Disney World too. Some of these have been family vacations, others were mini honeymoons with just the two of us.
Cabo San Lucas - Mini Vacation
For Labor Day weekend (09/03/2013), we are off to Cabo San Lucas. A short two-hour flight out of TJ International airport. We stayed at the Wyndham Resort in San José Cabo. Its only about 20-30 minutes from downtown Cabo and has almost as prominent vacation and resort destination and attractions as Cabo itself.
We discovered that in the winter, pods of whales can be observed in the area. They bear their calves in the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez after completing their six-thousand-mile migration from Alaska and Siberia. There are many talks of viewing these right off the coast as they migrate North. Sounds like an opportunity for another trip to catch this amazing activity.

This vacation to Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora was in the planning for over a year. Some of the best photos of the South Pacific were taken on Moorea & Bora Bora. The prestine lagoons with white sands, and deep colored sunsets make for an awesome scene for romance on the island.
In June 2009, we completed another large family vacation where we went back to Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

Puerto Rico & Caribbean 2009
MC and I really wanted to do another "big family trip" and couldn't think of another place that everyone would enjoy better than the Caribbean.
Half of us spent 10-days venturing in and all around Puerto Rico. Afterward, we jumped on a cruise ship and enjoyed the following 7 days crusing the Caribbean Islands.
The boys enjot swiming in one of the many waterfalls in Puerto Rico.
We think one of the best places to stay in San Juan is the Inter Commentental hotel. Their beach front lot and their pool area is so relaxing. And, what a view from the room.

MC, Wendie and Nelson decided to take a sulfer mud bath. YUCK!

Nine of us travelled to Disney World in early December 2007. We got all of the fun and Christmas splash that Disney could dish up including great weather for our week vacation in Orlando.
Puerto Rico & the Caribbean Islands
While planning Nelson & Wendie's wedding, we decided to send them off to the Caribbean on a cruise for their honeymoon. We got so excited about planning their trip, we decided to book a trip for ourselves. It was a solid week playing around in Puerto Rico and the awesome beaches and then another week aboard a cruise ship in the Caribbean Islands.
Mexico City, Ciudad del Carmen,
Meriad, Chichén Itzá
It was getting close to the end of the year (December 2005) and MC and I still had several weeks of vacation to burn up. Her younger brother Oscar lives in Ciudad del Carmen. It's small island (15 miles by 30) in the state of Campache. Several other family members are heading there for Christmas so we decisded to join them after a seven day trip to Mexico City.
Wow -- Mexico City has such great culture and massive in size too.
After the week in Mexico City, we headed to Ciudad del Carmen. MC's brother works for a large oil company and frequently has a need to fly out to some of the oil rigs. I was able to join him on one of those rides. Landing on the helo pad is a bit tricky especially if there is any wind. Most of the oil rigs are like mini cities.
In March 2005, twelve of us travelled to the Mexican Riviera (Acapulco, Zihuatanejo, Ixtapa, Manzanillo) aboard the Carnival cruise ship Sprit.
Shannon wasn't the only one getting freaked out a little as she heads for the sky parasailing. Joaquin (who was only 10 at the time) decided to take the ride too. Once he was air born, we couldn't get him down, really!! He didn't have the strength to pull on the ropes to steer himself and he was heading for a crash landing on top of the restaurants.
The whole beach was screaming at him. He didn't know what to do and we couldn't help him while he was 500' up in the air. What a scare!
Dinner aboard ship was fantistic. We ate our fair share of lobster, filet mignon, shrimp, prime rib and all the fancy deserts. I think I enjoyed the all you can eat soft serve ice cream that was available 24x7
We all gained
a few pounds on this trip.
One of Maricarmen's best friends (Barbara) now lives in Guadalajara Mx. We arranged a two week vacation spending one week with her and then a week in Puerto Vallarta with a friends.

While in Guadalajara, we did many of the typical tourist stops and visited several of the cultural centers, enjoyed the rich variety of architectural styles in many of their large buildings and churches. We also did a bit of shopping in Tlaquepaque & Tonala. This is where we picked up the large sun wall murial that hangs in our living room.
Puerto Vallarta, Mx
The second week was spent in Puerto Vallarta with the Majano's.
Wow! These guys know how to party. One of the best vacations I had for sometime.
We stayed in a nice three bedroom resort.

In the north area of Puerto Vallarta, we rode horses through a small jungle and into an area where there are several natural waterfalls, ponds, and lots to do. This is Mike & MC swinging on the rope dropping into the water.
